If anyone asks, I like to tell them that I'm a historian with a particular interest in science, technology and industry.
Sometimes I claim to be a writer and photographer, but that's more a statement of ambition than of fact.
I've been working on my PhD at the Bristol Business School (the title is The Economic Foundations of Social Distinction: The Countess Waldegrave, 1839-1879, but the subject matter isn't as boring as this might suggest), but I've no idea when (or if) I'll be able to finish it.
Like most blogs, this one seems to attract very few comments. It's a bit scrappy at the moment as I'm not free to devote much time to it, but I'd be very interested to know what you think of what I have to say. Comments are moderated, but you don't have to be a Blogger member to post a comment.
