Just why do there seem to be so many abandoned boots and shoes scattered across the English landscape?

I cannot believe that someone else has also noticed this Keith! It first came to my attention a few years ago when living in Southend-on-Sea (am back in Weston now, thank goodness!). I've been meaning to start a photographic project detailing abandoned shoes all over the country (always only 1) but you know how it is, just never got round to it.

Stick with the PhD, I did mine in Social History (Anarchism in Cuba) and I don't suppose I've used it much to my advantage yet but I will ... watch this sp...

Following you on Twitter as WestonsuperMum and I write about places such as the Glorious Sand Point/Bay and Uphill and well, anywhere really in and around WsM

I saw this one at Sand Bay last year.

I've never been sure how anyone can lose a shoe without noticing; my current theory is that they get thrown out of car windows, although how and why that happens is a bit of a mystery as well.

Curiously enough, I used to live in Billericay. I can't think why everyone seems to want to leave Essex.
