A Survival Guide for Rabbits
I've written about the rabbits at UWE a number of times, and this year there seem to be more of them than ever, something that's surprising in view of the way that some of them are behaving.
All the adults that I've seem have been on land alongside one of the car parks, well away from any danger from traffic.

A number of juveniles, however, can be found a couple of hundred yards away, grazing on the grass verge a few feet from the main road.

They don't seem to be particularly bothered by the people walking past. Not only is it possible to stand about six feet from them to take photographs, but they seem perfectly prepared to stay still for long enough to be filmed as well.
I can't help thinking that this doesn't represent a particularly good survival strategy, even though, as usual, most of the people walking past don't seem to notice them. It will be interesting to see whether their numbers continue to increase over the coming year.
